Toronto Zoo’s signature milkshakes are being offered for the first time in the city this weekend, as part of its centennial celebration.
For the first five days of this celebration, visitors will have the chance to sample the signature milk tea and signature signature milk, the milk tea infused with soy, cashew, cashews, pistachios, pumpkin, cinnamon and ginger.
“It is a tribute to the past and the city that this is happening,” said Zoo director Paul Wylie.
“And it’s really nice to see that there are a lot of people who have an affinity for this product.”
The milk tea will be available in the Zoo’s Signature Tea Shop and Signature Café, where it will be offered with the rest of the milk teas.
The signature milk teapots are made of organic ingredients sourced from local farms and will be shipped in the following week to the Toronto and York regions.
A variety of cashew varieties will be sold to guests at Signature Cafe, including the creamy Cashew Cashew and the fragrant, golden-tongued Cashew Panna Cotta.
Wylie said that guests can also sample the milk-and-cream milkshows made from cashews grown in Toronto’s Etobicoke neighbourhood, and that guests may choose from the Signature Café’s signature vegan and vegetarian milkshaks.
This weekend, guests will also have the opportunity to sample Signature Cafe’s signature signature dessert, Signature Chocolate Ice Cream.
The Signature Café is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, with the Signature Ice Cream Shop open from noon to 6 p.b.m.; and from 11 a.p.m.-4 p.p.-ish on Friday and Saturday.
